Woman, 21, Killed; 2 Drivers Arrested

Jacqueline Zamarripa, 21, died in a hit-and-run crash on Willow Street in Long Beach involving a motorist performing donuts in his SUV.

The deadly crash occurred about 11 p.m. on Friday, June 16th at Willow Street and Caspian Avenue, just west of the Los Angeles River, according to Fox 11 News.

Saul Alfas, 20, of Long Beach was driving an SUV and allegedly performing donuts when he crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado SUV occupied by Jacqueline Zamarripa. She was a passenger in the SUV traveling westbound on Willow Street. The SUV crashed into a tree and she was ejected from the vehicle upon impact.

The 20-year-old Long Beach man reportedly fled the scene, but turned himself in to police the next day. HE is being charged with one count of felony vehicular manslaughter and one count of felony hit-and-run causing injury or death. The motorist was booked at Long Beach City jail where he was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Police also arrested Noe Jose Menjivar, 20, on Thursday, June 22. He was driving the Silverado occupied by the young woman who died. His bail was also set at $50,000.
