Woman Arrested on DUI Charges on Hwy 108
Ismael Deleon, 42, of Salida, died in a crash Sunday morning on Highway 108 at Rushing Hill Lookout Road in Jamestown, Tuolumne County.
The traffic accident occurred around 3:43 a.m. on Sept. 24th, near Katherine Johnson Farm, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Leah Doucette, 30, of Turlock, was driving a 2004 GMC pickup truck and Ismael Deleon was her passenger, according to MyMotherLode. The pair were traveling eastbound on the highway before she veered off the roadway and eventually overturned.
The driver was reportedly thrown out of her vehicle and sustained major injuries.
Cal Fire sent paramedics to the scene and they performed CPR on her before airlifting her to Memorial Hospital in Modesto. Police later arrested her on felony DUI charges.
Meanwhile, Ismael Deleon suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Investigators with the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Dept. are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 108.
