2 Adults Killed, Toddler Critically Injured

Heidi Jo Jaeger, 48, of Vancouver, Washington, died in a pedestrian accident on Lightwave Avenue in San Diego.

The deadly collision occurred around 3:12 p.m. on June 7th, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.

The woman was reportedly crossing Lightwave Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk near National University. Witnesses say she was talking on her cell phone and stopped briefly at the center median before stepping out into eastbound traffic lanes. An oncoming vehicle struck the woman and knocked her to the ground.

Paramedics responded and transported her to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

However, due to multiple blunt force injuries she later died two days later at 12:14 p.m. on June 9th, the report said.

The San Diego Police Department is investigating the crash to determine liability.
