Ashley Castillo and Elena Gomez Injured in Head-On Collision 

One person was killed and two others injured in a head-on collision in Herber, CA on Sunday.

The tragic accident took place on May 8th on Highway 111 just north of Calexico.

According to CHP, Gregorio Gomez, 89 was driving a red sedan when he veered into the path of a vehicle driven by Ashley Castillo.

The two vehicles collided head-on as a result, sadly killing Gregorio Gomez.

Following that crash, another vehicle crashed into Castillo’s car, causing major front-end damage.

Ashley Castllo had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.

Elena Gomez, the 84-year-old passenger of the red sedan, suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
