Andres Morales Arrested Following DUI Crash 

A DUI Bicycle crash resulted in the death of 47-year-old George R. Miranda Jr. on Sunday in Oxnard. 

The incident occurred on February 13th on eastbound Wooley Road. 

Per reports, Andres Morales, 27, was driving a Honda Civic when he fatally struck Miranda Jr. on his BMX-style bike. 

It was around 10:18 p.m. when the accident occurred. 

Morales was traveling at a high rate of speed when he veered into the right shoulder, hitting the bicyclist. 

Upon impact, Miranda Jr. was ejected and sadly died at the scene. 

It was also determined that Morales was under the influence at the time of the accident. He was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and has been charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI causing injury, and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent.

He is being held on $50,000 bail as of Wednesday, February 16th.
