Fresno Collision Kills 60-year old Woman.

A three-vehicle collision led to the death of 60-year-old Israel Lara. The collision happened Saturday afternoon, August 7th around 2:20 p.m. in Fresno County.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash took place at the intersection of Highway 180 and Oliver Street near Sanger.

Lara was heading southbound in his Ford Escort when he stopped at the intersection. He then pulled out in front of a car heading westbound on Highway 180. The other car was a Hyundai Tucson which crashed into the driver-side door of the Escort.

In an attempt to avoid the collision, another man who was also heading westbound in a Ford Econoline van ended up colliding with the Hyuandi.

The three vehicles eventually came to a stop on the northwest side of Oliver.

Lara was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two drivers sustained only minor injuries and received treatment at a local hospital.

It is unsure if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
