Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Car Accident

Anthony Gomez, 28, died in a multi-vehicle crash in Van Nuys on the northbound Interstate 405 Freeway, just north of Sherman Way East.

The collision occurred at around 4:38 a.m. on Oct. 30th after the 28-year-old driver struck the center divider, spun around and wound up facing oncoming traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Anthony Gomez’s car was then struck by several oncoming vehicles and he died at the scene, police said. Six vehicles in total were involved including a red Toyota Camry.

Several other motorists were injured in the crash, but none were serious.

Police closed down several lanes of the freeway and issued a SigAlert. An investigation is underway to determine liability for the Van Nuys crash on the 405 Freeway.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later released the victim’s name.
