Crash Involving Big Rig Truck Leaves 1 Dead
Investigators are working to determine liability into a crash that occurred on Friday morning in Pleasanton.
The deadly accident involved a big rig, Honda and pickup truck and occurred just before 6:00 a.m.
According to reports, a Honda Civic sideswiped the big rig causing the Honda to lose control. It then crossed over multiple lanes prior to being hit by a pickup truck on the 680 freeway.
The Honda ended up hitting the center divider wall then ended up sideways in the far left lane due to the impact.
Sadly, the crash resulted in the death of the unidentified driver of the Honda.
Authorities shut down three lanes of the freeway and also issued a SigAlert due to major traffic congestion.
In 2020, studies showed that the state of California reported 3,723 motor-vehicle deaths which was an increase from 2019.
