Daniel Guadarram, 26, Struck, Killed on Silverado Trail in Napa

 A fatal Napa pedestrian accident happened Saturday at Silverado Trail and Oak Knoll Avenue.

The deadly crash occurred at around 4:10 a.m. on March 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A driver in a silver Toyota RAV4 SUV was traveling southbound on Silverado Trail when she reportedly struck a man in the roadway. The victim was standing near his disabled vehicle on the side of the roadway. The Napa County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Daniel Matos Guadarrama, 26, Yountville.

Authorities believe the headlights on the victim’s disabled Jeep could have “caused a visual impairment” that made it difficult for the driver to see the pedestrian in the roadway. By the time the motorist saw the victim, she was unable to avoid hitting him, according to a Napa CHP Facebook post.

An off-duty Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy was nearby and responded to the scene, but attempts to save the victim’s life were unsuccessful.

Tow trucks removed the RAV4 SUV with major front-end damage and the victim’s Jeep truck that was struck in the mud.

The collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Napa Area.

The victim has not been identified, but the name will be released by the Napa County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office.
