Man, 39, Killed in Crash on I-405 Freeway in Irvine
A fatal Irvine crash on the Interstate 405 Freeway happened Friday morning near Jamboree Road in Orange County.
The deadly 3-vehicle crash occurred in the middle southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway about 5:46 a.m. on Dec. 2nd, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers of a gray SUV, a red Nissan 350Z and a Fiat were involved in the wreck, police said. The Nissan apparently entered the southbound freeway lanes and lost control before being hit on the driver’s side by the SUV.
Additionally, the Orange County Fire Authority responded and extricated at least one person who was trapped in a vehicle.
Two people suffered injuries in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was taken by ambulance to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with moderate injuries. Also, the 39-year-old man driving the Nissan was transported to OC Global Medical Center where he later died.
Meanwhile, the Irvine Police Department closed down the Jamboree Road on ramp to the southbound 405 freeway due to the crash.
Finally, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal Irvine crash.
