Woman, 19, Struck by Hit-and-run Driver

Corina Samuels, 19, of Fresno, was struck and killed Tuesday night while crossing the street near Ashlan Avenue and Valentine Avenue in northwest Fresno.

The driver reportedly fled the scene after hitting one of two women who were crossing the roadway, according to ABC 30 News.

The collision occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, according to police reports.

The two women were near the center median when the oncoming vehicle struck the 19-year-old woman and left her with major injuries. Corina Samuels, 19, of Fresno, was later identified by the Fresno County Sheriff Coroner.

Police say the victim’s friend is cooperating with the investigation and they are working to find the suspect who fled the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
