Fatal Crash
Authorities detained and arrested Ricardo Beltram, 29, following a deadly DUI wreck in the South Natomas area of Sacramento. Authorities determined that Beltram was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The wreck happened early Saturday at around 2:30 a.m. and began when Ricardo Beltram struck another vehicle in the South Natomas neighborhood. They crashed at the intersection of Arden Garden Connector and Northgate Boulevard.
Two 28-year-old women riding the victim car were pronounced dead at the scene. The women were later identified as Raquel Hudson and Dejuana Byrd. A third person in the car suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency crew rushed the patient to a hospital for further treatment.
Ricardo Beltram was charged with suspicion of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing death or injury. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail in lieu of a $2 million bail. The South Natomas DUI crash is still under investigation.
