Man, 22, Killed; Driver Luis Ochoa Lopez Arrested DUI

Elijah Aragon, 22, of Fresno, died Monday in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99, just north of Olive Avenue in Fresno.

The collision occurred at around 2 a.m. on Dec. 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says officers responded to Highway 99 where the drivers of a Lexus ES350 and a Nissan Versa had collided.

The young man was driving the Lexus northbound on Highway 99 when his vehicle and the Nissan collided due to unknown circumstances. Elijah Aragon lost control of his vehicle and sideswiped a tree on the shoulder of the roadway.

The Nissan’s driver, Luis Ochoa Lopez, 28, and his passenger, both survived the crash with no injuries, but he was later arrested on DUI charges. Police do not believe he was responsible for the collision.

Investigators continue to work on the fatal crash on Highway 99.
