ATV Accident Kills Ronald Phelps II In Antioch

Authorities have identified the victim of an ATV crash that took place on Wednesday morning on August 25th. 

39-year-old Ronald William Phelps II was killed at about  5:30 a.m. on Wilbur avenue near Viera Avenue. 

According to reports, Phelps was riding in an all-terrain vehicle when he collided with a pickup truck in the middle of the roadway.

Phelps was pronounced dead at the scene and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

In addition, the unidentified driver of the pickup truck was fully cooperative with police following the collision. 

Wilbur Avenue was also shut down for numerous hours after the crash.

Statistics show that about 135,000 people are injured each year as the result of ATV accidents. Moreover, over 700 people are killed in these types of accidents.
