Driver Struck, Killed Bakersfield Man, 26

Erick Mikail Bartlett, 26, of Bakersfield, died a week ago in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Edison Highway, just east of Webster Street.

The deadly crash occurred around 3:32 a.m. on June 16th in Bakersfield, according to the Kern County coroner’s office and the Bakersfield Californian.

A driver reportedly struck the Bakersfield man on the highway and fled the scene without stopping to help the young man. Paramedics responded and rushed Erick Bartlett to Kern Medical Center where he later died at 12:28 p.m., the coroner said.

The California Highway Patrol is heading up an investigation into what happened and they are searching for the suspect.
