Bakersfield Man, 74, Killed in Car Accident
Eric Hoffman, 74, of Bakersfield, died and at least two people were injured in a Shafter crash on Zerker Road near Lerdo Highway.
The 3 or 4-vehicle collision happened at around 7 a.m. on February 27th just south of Lerdo Highway, according to the Kern County Fire Department and a report in Bakersfield Now.
Firefighters from Bakersfield and Shafter responded and located at least one person trapped in the wreckage. Using the Jaws of Life, firefighters extricated the person who died following the crash. That person was later identified as Eric Hoffman.
Paramedics were on the scene to help the injured and rushed two people to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities closed down Zerker Road at 7th Standard Road and the Garlic Company intersection.
