Texas Man Killed in Calabasas ID’d

Eric Hamermesh, 68, of McKinney, Texas, died after being crushed between two vehicles in a Calabasas parking lot on Rondell Street when another vehicle struck his parked vehicle.

The motorist died after the 2:40 p.m. crash on Saturday, Sept. 2nd in the 26400 block of Rondell Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The man was exiting his parked vehicle when a driver who had just entered the parking lot hit his vehicle. The second driver entered the parking lot from Las Virgenes Road and then allegedly “accelerated uncontrollably”‘ before slamming into a parked vehicle, police said.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department sent paramedics to the parking lot crash site. However, the victim was pinned between both vehicles and died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the sheriff’s department’s Malibu/Lost Hills station is heading up the investigation. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified the victim as Eric Hamermesh.
