2 Killed in Altadena Car Accident Identified

Emalie Ortiz, 23, and John Ross, 29, both died in a fiery Altadena car crash early Tuesday at West Loma Alta and Loma View Drive.

The deadly, solo-vehicle crash occurred at about 1:03 a.m. on March 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of an Audi SUV reportedly crashed into a parked SUV at the Altadena intersection.

CHP officers responded to the Altadena intersection and located the overturned Audi SUV already engulfed in flames, according to a report by MyNewsLA. The vehicle reportedly crashed into the back of a parked SUV, KTLA 5 News reported.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Fire Department sent firefighters to extricate the victims who were trapped in the wreckage, but unfortunately both died on scene. The names of the man and woman were not released, but they are both in their 20s, KTLA 5 News reports.

Finally, traffic investigators are working on the case to determine what led to the fatal Altadena car crash, but early indications are that speed could have been a factor.
