Rollover Collision Injures Passenger in El Centro

Investigators are working to determine fault regarding a two-vehicle collision that occurred in El Centro Tuesday morning.

It was just before 11 a.m. when a Nissan Murano and GMC Arcadia collided at North Eighth Street and Broadway.

Per authorities, Roberto Romero, 71, was driving west in the Murano when he collided with the southbound Arcadia driven by Karla Mancera, 20.

The Arcadia reportedly struck the passenger side of the Murano, causing it to overturn onto its roof and skid, then landed back on its wheels.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the passenger in the Murano to El Centro Regional Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

Romero had reported that he drove through a yellow light at the intersection, whereas Mancera reported she saw a green light.

An active investigation remains underway.
