Motorist Killed in Joshua Tree Accident ID’d

Edden Esparza, 32, of Joshua Tree, died in a truck versus car accident on Twentynine Palms Highway (62) Thursday morning last week in Joshua Tree.

The two-vehicle collision occurred around 9 a.m. on July 13th, near Rotary Way and east of Old Copper Mountain Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Fatal Joshua Tree Accident

A driver in a loaded dump truck and a vehicle driven by Edden Esparza on State Route Highway 62, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.

An ambulance was passing by following the crash and stopped to help the injured people, but sadly the Joshua Tree resident died at the scene.

All traffic lanes were blocked by the collision and emergency responders. Caltrans closed down the eastbound lanes, but were working on reopening a westbound lane around 9:30 a.m.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal Joshua Tree accident on Twentynine Palms Highway.
