Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash, Identified

The motorcyclist who was killed in a collision in Oildale on Thursday night has been identified as Dylan Ray McCutheon, 24, of Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

The wreck took place on McCray Street and Merle Haggard Drive at around 8:20 p.m. January 4.

The California Highway Patrol said McCutheon was riding a motorcycle northbound on McCray Street when he failed to stop for a red light and crashed into a Dodge driven by a 28-year-old man.

McCutheon was ejected from the motorcycle by the impact of the crash.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Dodge also crashed into a light pole and the driver was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
