Man Killed in DUI Collisioni on Escalon-Belota Road 

58-year-old Mike Vargas Sr. fell victim to a DUI crash in Farmington Sunday, June 26th. 

The wreck took place around 3 p.m. that afternoon on Escalon-Belota Road. 

Vargas Sr. was riding his motorcycle southbound before colliding with a Tesla.

The Tesla, whose driver was drunk at the time, veered into the motorcyclist’s side, causing a head-on collision. 

Vargas Sr. was ejected from his bike and sadly died at the scene despite life-saving efforts. 

The suspect was treated for unspecified injuries before being booked into jail.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol.
