Driver and Passenger Killed Following Rialto Crash

According to news reports, three people died following a traffic accident that occurred on South Riverside Avenue Monday morning.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Dodge Ram was heading south on Riverside Avenue in the left most lane.

The crash happened near the intersection at South Riverside Avenue, when a Nissan Altima speeding behind the Dodge abruptly turned. The sudden movement caused the Nissan to clip the rear of the Dodge.

Officials said the driver of the Nissan attempted to avoid further collision, and veered to the left. The Nissan crossed into northbound Riverside Avenue traffic and crashed head-on into a box truck.

The catastrophic incident took place in the 2500 block of South Riverside Avenue.

At around 7:45 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the site. First responders found at the scene four parties trapped in the disabled 2020 Nissan Altima.

Firefighters worked extensively to extricate the driver, and the three passengers in the Altima.

Paramedics reportedly performed life-saving measures to the victims but all three parties sadly died at the scene.
