Douglas Armstrong Killed in San Rafael Accident on US 101
The motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a big rig in San Rafael last week has been identified by the coroner’s office as Douglas Armstrong, 70, of Mill Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 8 a.m. on US 101 north of the I-580 interchange.
According to the report, Armstrong, who was riding a BMW, attempted to change lanes and slammed into a Ford F-150 that was pulling a utility trailer.
Armstrong then fell onto the roadway and was ran over by the trailer of the truck.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation and authorities said impairment was not suspected.
