Riverside Man, 42, Killed in Motorcycle Collision is Identified

Donavin Worthington, 42, of Riverside, died Monday afternoon in a motorcycle accident at Van Buren Boulevard and Firethorn Avenue in Riverside.

The Riverside man’s bike, a gray Mercedes or Lexus, possibly operated by a California State Parks employee, collided in the middle lanes at the intersection at around 4:19 p.m. on Dec. 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.

Cal Fire Riverside sent paramedics who reported the rider lost his leg in the crash and died at the scene, according to the CHP report.

Police closed down the roadway between Mockingbird Canyon and Canyon Ridge, the report said.

The Riverside County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim as Donavin Worthington on its website.

The CHP’s Riverside station is heading up the investigation into what happened and will determine fault for the fatal motorcycle accident.
