Christopher Lopez Hurt in Salida Crash on Highway 99
Christopher Lopez, 21, of Ceres, was hurt in a motorcycle collision in Salida on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened on Highway 99 near the Hammet Road offramp at around 5:40 a.m.
The CHP said Lopez was riding a 2007 Triumph motorcycle northbound on Highway 99 when he crashed into the rear of a 2010 Mercedes stopped for traffic ahead.
Lopez was ejected from the motorcycle following the collision and he landed in the roadway.
He was rushed to Doctors Medical Center of Modesto with major head injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 26-year-old Los Banos man, was not injured.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected. The collision is under investigation.
