Deadly Oakland Multi-Vehicle Accident

1 Dead Following Crash on 580 Freeway near Park Boulevard

Four vehicles were involved in a fatal collision that occurred in Oakland on Monday evening.

The crash occurred on February 14th within the eastbound lanes of the 580 Freeway.

It was just before 10 p.m. when an SUV and three other unspecified vehicles collided near Park Boulevard.

It is unclear at this time; however, what led to the accident.

As a result, one unidentified person unfortunately died at the scene.

CHP is actively investigating the collision to determine liability.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.

When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
