Highway 84 Collision Results in Fatality 

CHP is actively investigating a deadly traffic accident that occurred in Newark on Tuesday night.

According to reports, the crash took place at 9:10 p.m. on Highway 84. 

A Ford Focus and Honda collided under unclear circumstances near the Newark Boulevard on-ramp. 

One person sadly died at the scene despite life-saving efforts. 

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

In 2020, studies showed that the state of California reported 3,723 motor-vehicle deaths which was an increase from 2019.
