One Person Dead After Two-Vehicle Crash
Two-vehicles collided as the result of a drunk driver in Las Vegas on Friday morning.
As a result, one unidentified person died at the scene.
The crash took place just before 2 in the morning at the intersection of Gass Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.
According to police, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling east before entering the intersection and crashing into the driver’s side of a Toyota Camry.
The crash was the result of the Jeep running a red light, per reports.
Dayshia Brown, 24, was the impaired driver who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Further information will be provided once an investigation is concluded.
According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
