As a result, one unidentified person died at the scene.

The crash took place just before 2 in the morning at the intersection of Gass Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.

According to police, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling east before entering the intersection and crashing into the driver’s side of a Toyota Camry.

The crash was the result of the Jeep running a red light, per reports.

With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
