Sanger Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Car Accident
Daniel Uribe, 58, of Sanger, died in a multi-vehicle crash at Goodfellow Avenue, just west of Rio Vista Avenue on Tuesday afternoon in Fresno County.
The Sanger man died and three other drivers were injured in the collision reported at 3:30 p.m. on August 22nd, according to ABC 30 News.
The incident occurred after a 26-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck swerved to avoid hitting a Toyota Camry. She was heading eastbound on Goodfellow Avenue when she veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a BMW 328i. The truck also collided with a Hyundai before the vehicles came to a stop.
Daniel Uribe was driving the BMW and suffered major injuries in the collision. Paramedics transported him to Adventist Hospital in Reedley where he later died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the woman from the Chevrolet truck and the driver of the Hyundai to Kaiser Hospital and CRMC for treatment of minor to moderate injuries. The Toyota driver suffered injuries, but declined transport to a hospital.
Authorities are working on determining fault for the crash. Preliminary indications are the woman driving the truck could have been distracted prior to the collision.
Police believe the driver in the truck was likely distracted or inattentive. She could possibly face charges of vehicular manslaughter, but there are no arrests at this time.
