Daniel Texeira Hurt in Jamestown Accident on Highway 49/108
A Caltrans worker was hit and injured by a suspected DUI driver in Jamestown early Monday morning, according to authorities.
Daniel Texeira, 52, of San Andreas, was hospitalized with major injuries after the collision on Highway 49/108 at around 12:45 a.m. October 23.
Authorities said Texeira was placing cones on the road near 5th Avenue to make the intersection safe due to power outage.
A 2022 Subaru Impreza traveling westbound made a left turn onto southbound 5th Avenue and hit Texeira in the roadway.
Texeira was taken to Adventist Health Sonora with major injuries.
The driver, Devyn Gonzales, 29, was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on suspicion of DUI.
The incident is under investigation.
