47-Year-Old Quintance Daniels Was The Victim Of The Fatal Accident

The crash was the result of a wrong-way driver who hit Daniels head-on at Rosecrans Avenue and Kingsley Drive.

According to reports, a westbound Jeep slammed into the center divider under unclear circumstances on October 16th.

Following that, the Jeep then continued westbound and entered the eastbound lane where it hit the motorcyclist head on.

Daniels was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver of the Jeep was also transported to Harbor General Hospital for treatment. Her condition, however, was unknown.

The crash remains under investigation.

JT Legal Group sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Quintance Daniels.

Although crashes involving wrong-way driving account for only 3% of motor vehicle accidents, they usually have a higher fatality rate as they are often head-on collisions. A study in Virginia concluded that those accidents which include wrong-way driving are twenty-seven times more likely to end in a fatality compared to other types of accidents.

Motorcycle accidents, according to the NHTSA, accounted for 14% of motor vehicle accident deaths in 2019. Motorcyclists should be fully aware of the safety challenges in which they face while riding on roads in California. Below are some tips for motorcyclists:

  • Wear proper protection
  • Ride responsibly
  • Be knowledgeable and practice how to properly operate a motorcycle
  • Ensure you are licensed prior to operating a motorcycle
