Sacramento Car Accident on 5 Freeway near Cosumnes River Boulevard

One person sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon in Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at around 3:11 p.m. on December 7, on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of the Cosumnes River Boulevard off-ramp.

Police said two vehicles collided for reasons still under investigation.

Fire officials and medics responded to the scene to aid at least one person injured in the accident. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately released.

The vehicles were blocking lane 3 and the HOV lane following the crash. The roadway was cleared as of 3:59 a.m.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the accident scene.

No additional information regarding this crash was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
