Woman, 37, Killed in Crash on Jan. 31st Identified

Brenda Kimberly Jimenez, 34, of Rancho Cucamonga, died late last month in a crash at Hermosa Avenue and 6th Street.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 5:25 p.m. on Jan. 31st, according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner.

The woman was riding as a passenger in a black Nissan Rogue driven by a 37-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man southbound on Hermosa Avenue, according to the Fontana Herald-News.

The driver attempted to turn left onto 6th Street, but pulled into the path of a northbound Mercedes CLS 550 and the two vehicles collided, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Rancho Cucamonga firefighters responded to help those injured including the woman riding in the Nissan who sustained major injuries in the crash. However, despite their efforts, she died at the scene of the crash and was later identified as Brenda Jimenez.

Three other people including the 57-year-old woman driving the Mercedes and the Nissan driver were transported by ambulances to Pomona Valley Hospital for non-life threatening injuries from the collision.

The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department is heading up the investigation and may be reached at (909) 477-2800.
