Oceanside Man ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

Brandon Reyes, 29, of Oceanside, was killed earlier this month in a motorcycle accident involving a car on the State Route 78 on ramp to the Interstate 5 Freeway in Oceanside.

The deadly crash occurred around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man was riding his 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle along the westbound State Route 78 transition ramp heading to the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, according to the Times of San Diego.

The rider went down in traffic lanes and shortly after was hit by a driver in a Mitsubishi Outlander.

The 69-year-old San Diego man driving the Outlander stopped his vehicle and someone called 911 for help.

Paramedics responded and rushed the injured motorcyclist to a local hospital, but unfortunately he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Mitsubishi cooperated with the investigation into what happened.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office released the victim’s name as Brandon Reyes.

Witnesses should contact the Oceanside CHP office at (760) 643-3400.
