1 Killed, 2 Severely Injured in Fresno County Crash

Billy Wilhite, 69, of Laton, died and two people were badly injured in a crash on Highway 41 and Mountain View Avenue in Fresno County.

The traffic accident took place about 3:22 p.m. on Friday afternoon Dec. 9th near Caruthers, according to The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News,

Police reported a white Ram pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 41 near East Mountain View Avenue. Authorities estimated the speed of the car was about 80 mph at the time.

The Ram pickup truck reportedly crashed into the back of a black Range Rover before the pickup went on and hit a fence.

Paramedics responded, but were unable to save the 69-year-old Laton man who was driving the Ram. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe he may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the collision.

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old man driving the Range Rover, and his passenger both sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. They were rushed by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

Both cars ended up with severe damage after the collision and were towed from the scene.
