Traffic Accident on Highway 60 near Pedley Road 

A big rig and Toyota Avalon collided on Thursday afternoon in Riverside. 

The crash took place on November 18th on Highway 60 near Pedley Road according to CHP. 

It was reported just after 4:00 p.m. and two people were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. 

CHP is actively investigating the collision as it is unclear what led to the accident. 

It is most often those in passenger cars that are killed in large truck collisions. Semi trucks typically weigh 20-30 times as much as passenger cars which leaves occupants of smaller cars more vulnerable. 

According to the D.O.T., in 2019 67% of fatal collisions involving large trucks were occupants of a passenger car.
