Canyon Country Crash Results in Injuries

A cyclist and vehicle collided in Canyon Country Monday afternoon, resulting in injuries.

The incident occurred at 2:18 p.m. near Soledad Canyon Road and Rainbow Glen Drive.

It is unclear at this time what caused the accident.

The rider was hospitalized with unspecified injuries on July 18th following the wreck.

Authorities also shut down all eastbound lanes of the road as they provided aid to the cyclist.

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

Similar to motorcyclists, bicyclists are just as vulnerable on the roads. According to the NHTSA, 30% of bicycle accident injuries occur when hit by a vehicle. In addition, these injuries are often the result of the driver not paying attention.

Because of the various dangers bicyclists face on the road, it is important that they possess all protection equipment.
