Man Killed in San Gregorio Accident on Highway 1

60-year-old Thomas Hampe was hit and killed by a vehicle while riding a bike on June 25th. 

The fatal accident took place in San Gregorio around 4:20 p.m. that Saturday. 

A woman lost control of her vehicle as she was driving north and struck Hampe in the bike lane. 

The bicyclist was ejected down a dirt embankment, sadly killing him at the scene. 

The woman also hit another vehicle after the first crash and she was taken to Stanford Hospital for treatment of her injuries. 

An active investigation remains underway.
