Woman, 47, Killed in Crash is Identified
Tragic Chain-Reaction Crash in Fresno County Claims the Life of Belinda Chacon, 47.
Belinda Chacon, 47, lost her life in a devastating chain-reaction crash that left six others injured at the intersection of Highway 41 and East Elkhorn Avenue in Fresno County. The collision occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Monday, July 24th, as reported by a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The collision involved a commercial truck pulling a trailer traveling southbound on Highway 41. Unfortunately, the driver of the Ford F-450 truck failed to notice the stopped traffic ahead. The truck rear-ended a Toyota, propelling it into a Chevrolet and a semi-truck, all of which were stopped at a traffic light.
Belinda Chacon was a passenger in the Toyota and sustained fatal injuries. Her husband, who was driving the car, suffered minor injuries, and their infant grandson, who was in the back seat, was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. Additionally, several occupants of the Chevrolet also sustained injuries.
Paramedics responded promptly and transported a total of six people to hospitals for treatment of their various injuries.
