Hit and Run Bakersfield

One person was left injured after a hit and run accident in Bakersfield, CA. The event took place Friday, February 26th around 1:30pm. Officers forced Union Avenue and Pacheco Road to close following the hit-and-run crash.

 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the car struck was a Brown Toyota Camry. 

FireFighter and paramedics responded to the scene of the collision taking the driver to the hospital.

The other driver fled the scene and is now being pursued by the police. Accident details are unknown at the moment and remain under investigation.


Hit- And- Run Collisions

According to the California Vehicle Code 20001:

(a) The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident and shall fulfill the requirements of Sections 20003 and 20004. 

That who violates the code should be punished by either imprisonment or fine, or by both.
