Pedestrian, 34, Struck and Killed on L Street is ID’d
Andres Jose Villa, 34, of Chula Vista, died in a pedestrian accident on Valentine’s Day while crossing L Street in Chula Vista.
The deadly crash occurred at around 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 14th in the 600 block of L Street in Chula Vista, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The Chula Vista man reportedly dropped his cell phone as he was crossing the roadway. When he bent over to pick up the phone, he was struck by an eastbound driver in a Ford pickup truck.
The pickup truck driver stopped the vehicle and someone call 911 to report the collision to authorities.
Paramedics responded and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force injuries, the coroner reported.
