Man Killed, Grandchild Injured in Crash at Dinuba Intersection
Alfonso Rios, 72, died and his 4-year-old granddaughter was injured in a Dinuba pedestrian accident on Friday at Crawford Avenue and Terrace Drive.
The deadly crash occurred around 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22nd near Jefferson Elementary School in Dinuba, ABC 30 News reports.
The motorist struck the elderly man and his granddaughter as he was walking her home from school.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured child to a hospital, but her grandfather died at the scene. The family has a GoFundMe page to raise money for his funeral and the girl’s medical costs.
Meanwhile, the driver involved pulled over and stopped after the crash. The person is cooperating with the investigation.
Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
