56-Year-Old Alejandro Hernandez Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Sebastopol Road in Santa Rosa
56-year-old Alejandro Hernandez of Santa Rosa was identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Coroner as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a truck Wednesday afternoon in Santa Rosa.
The Santa Rosa Police Department said a 2013 Chevrolet pickup truck was turning left onto westbound Sebastopol Road near Dutton Avenue when Hernandez ran from the north side of the road in front of the vehicle.
Hernandez was hit by the truck and sustained serious injuries. The pedestrian was pronounced dead around 12:45 p.m. at a hospital. The coroner said the victim died of blunt force trauma caused by the crash.
The 70-year-old pickup truck driver cooperated with investigators.
It did not appear drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision.
SRPD is investigating the accident.
