Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Car Turning Left at Intersection

Albert Zhu, 31, of Alameda, died in a motorcycle accident Sunday at Ninth Street and Lincoln Avenue in Alameda.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on the west end of the island at around 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11th, according to a report by East Bay Times.

A driver in a car was heading northbound on Ninth Street when they turned left onto Lincoln Avenue in front of the oncoming motorcyclist, the report said. Albert Zhu was traveling east on Lincoln Avenue and crashed into the car. Unfortunately, he died at the crash scene.

Meanwhile, the other motorist stopped and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

The Alameda Police Department is heading up the investigation and is asking witnesses to call the police department’s traffic division at 510-337-8340.
