Severe Injuries Sustained in Crash on Sycamore Drive 

Five people, including three pedestrians, were injured in an accident on Friday afternoon in Antioch. 

It was at about 3:21 p.m. when a Chevrolet Impala and Mercury Mystique collided at Sycamore Drive and Manzanita Way. 

Due to the crash, the vehicles then struck three students who were walking home from school.

It was also reported that the Impala was traveling at unsafe speeds prior to the crash. 

The three pedestrians sustained severe injuries as a result and were airlifted to hospitals.

Additionally, the Impala driver was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries. 

No injuries were initially reported from the driver of the Mystique; however, they still got examined at a hospital. 

An active investigation remains underway.
