Drunk Driver Crashes into Home, Injuring 4 People
Four people were injured after a drunk driver plowed into a home in the early hours of Wednesday, September 14th.
It was around 12:30 a.m. when the driver approached the intersection of Old River Road and Taft Highway.
The driver then drifted off the road and crashed into a home.
Princedeep and Rajwinder Joshan, both 25, sustained injuries as a result. 61-year-old Balwinder Joshan along with a 21-month-old boy also were injured in the accident.
The little boy sustained a broken arm and fractured skull.
Police arrested the driver on DUI charges and he was booked into Kern County Jail.
The crash remains under investigation.
According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
