JT Legal Group Secures $1 Million

April 2022: JT Legal Group, a law corporation specializing in personal injury has successfully settled $1 Million from a transportation accident.

This litigation arose out of a collision that occurred late in the evening on June 22nd, 2019. Our clients were traveling on Alemany Blvd when Defendant made an unsafe lane change and violently struck our clients’ vehicle causing it to spin.

Due to the severity of the impact, our clients sustained extensive injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Our client driver fractured her nose and underwent surgery to realign her bones, as well as lumbar spine surgery after conservative care failed to alleviate her symptoms. Our client passenger suffered a deep laceration to her chin and underwent scar revision surgery to diminish the appearance of the scar, as well as pain management treatment for her lingering lumbar spine pain. 

Almost 49 percent of vehicle fatalities occur during nighttime from 9 p.m – midnight. This is paired with the fact that approximately 25 percent of travel occurs during hours of darkness. The fatality rate per vehicle mile of travel is about three times higher at night than during the day.

Reasons for fatalities being high during nighttime are due to many different factors, such as– shift work, lack of quality sleep, long work hours, sleep disorders – and it doesn’t only happen on lengthy trips. These staggering numbers are backed up by a report by NHTSA that 100,000 police-reported crashes are a result of driver fatigue.
