Bicyclist Killed in Riverside at Center Street and Versailles Place

CHP reported a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist in Riverside Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. at the intersection of Cedar Street and Versailles Place.

A passerby called 911 to report the accident and the rider was found off to the side of the road on the ground. 

The bicycle was also split in half and located down the street from the body. 

At this time it is unclear what led to the crash. 

Sadly, the rider died at the scene. Their name has yet to be disclosed.

An active investigation is underway.
