Vehicle Hits AT&T Worker in Chula Vista
An unidentified AT&T worker was struck by a vehicle near their service truck on Wednesday, November 3rd.
The pedestrian accident occurred in Chula Vista around 10:50 a.m., per reports.
A 28-year-old was heading westbound in a red car when they struck the pedestrian on C Street.
The red car also hit the worker’s service truck upon impact.
Reports stated that the worker became trapped underneath one of the vehicles and firefighters arrived to pull him out.
The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local trauma center.
The driver also suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. In addition, their car had major front-end damage following the collision.
Investigators are actively working to determine the cause of the crash.
According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
